I live in Lisbon. Every three months I’m going on a road trip to Spain for administrative reasons, which is just a 3 hour drive wherever you are in Portugal. So, after returning from Brazil, found a day and went to have lunch in Spain with my friend Dylan.

This time, decided to visit Badajoz, a city right next to the Portugal-Spain border.

It’s a lovely town, with a river flowing through its center, and a citadel in the north called Alcazaba of Badajoz

The old city center reminded me of Seville: narrow streets, colorful tall buildings and nice parks here and there…

It was a Sunday and we were wondering where is everybody?

That dillema vanished when we stumbled right into a festival that was getting ready to start in the old city center.
