Building (and writing) in public

I see this trend of people going Substack. Friend talking about their adventures, about their work and skills, about AI (Nate B. Jones' is one of the only two AI writers I read) and everything else. Each creating their own community.

I guess I'm not there yet. I still love writing blog posts. Maybe because I was born in the 80s, and I just recently re-kindled with email. I find it nice to just think a bit, put your thoughts on "paper" and send a complete "package" to your friend, partner or just random person on the internet that you want to thank.

Since I'm a builder, I also decided to build. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and the whole swarm of AI tools available right now just make it so easy. So I will do what I do best — I will build (yes, that's human-typed, intentional em-dash 😛).

Inspired by my friend Sanna, I migrated my blog to Ghost yesterday (took a couple of hours with Claude Code Opus — it did all the heavy lifting), and wrote my first piece today. Moving forward, I plan to share my knowledge, spread the word, the love and the work.

Because even ChatGPT needs a source of information. Needs different points of view. Needs to learn from people's experiences. I was close to writing "other people's experiences" but we're not there yet.

I think some people might be hiding behind AI, and I'm not going to be one of them. If something has been built by AI, I will say it so. If it's not, I'll do the same. Being a father to a 1.5-year old cutie leaves me very little time for the craft. So I will research and try every way to make my life simpler, my work productive and my sleep peaceful.

Full disclosure? Claude Code told me I need to publish a new post so that Google sees new content on my blog when it crawls it again.

So here am I.

Writing again. Creating not only code, but shared knowledge. And, if I'm lucky, something to inspire wisdom.

Before AI, I was complaining that I have to build, and don't have time left to write. Now I'm going to consider that AI helps with building so there is also time to write.

Let's see how that goes.
